Puneet Verma

Puneet Verma leads federal advocacy efforts on behalf of AVANGRID’s full suite of businesses including Avangrid Networks and Avangrid Renewables. He has a deep background in climate change, environmental and corporate governance policy issues. Puneet leads a team responsible for advocating for AVANGRID’s interests with the U.S. Congress, White House, as well as federal Agencies. He has over 25 years for work experience in various aspects of the energy sector.

Prior to joining AVANGRID, Puneet served as Manager for Federal Government Affairs for Chevron. Before that, he held increasing leadership roles within Chevron related to policy analysis and managing new technologies ventures. He also held business development and engineering roles with Pacific Gas & Electric Company and Potomac Electric Power Company.

Puneet has served on several public-private partnerships, executive committees, boards, and government advisory committees focused on advancing new energy technologies, promoting free trade, and developing sound government policies.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University where he graduated with honors.
