Michael Arndt

General Manager & President, Recurrent Energy

As President and General Manager of Recurrent Energy, Michael Arndt leads a best-in-class team of more than 80 in-house experts working across all stages of the company’s solar and energy storage project development lifecycle. From policy, siting, design, interconnection, permitting and procurement to power marketing, financing and construction, Michael and his team are responsible for growing and executing Recurrent Energy’s robust solar and storage project pipeline of more than 5,700 MWac of solar under construction and in development and more than 1,045 MW / 4,180 MWh of energy storage under development across the United States and in Canada. Prior to his role as President and General Manager, Michael was Managing Director of Development at Recurrent Energy and was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s project development and power marketing. 

Michael has more than 18 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage project development. Throughout his career, he has developed more than 1,500 MW of energy projects with a total investment of over $3 billion. Michael has demonstrated success in M&A, power marketing, PPA negotiations and building, advancing and extracting value from development pipelines. He also has direct experience working within the CAISO, WECC, MISO, PJM and SPP markets. 

Michael joined Recurrent Energy from NRG, where he served as Vice President of Business Development, West Region. Prior to NRG, he held various leadership roles at Element Power, from Senior Vice President of Development to Chief Operating Officer. Michael is based in Austin, Texas and holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
