Senior Director, Wildlife & Federal Lands

Stu Webster is Senior Director of Wildlife and Federal Lands for the American Clean Power Association (ACP), focusing on wildlife-related permitting, policy and regulatory issues related to wind, solar, and transmission development and operating assets. Prior to joining ACP, Stu served as Senior Manager of American Wind Wildlife Institute’s (AWWI) Technology Innovation Program, a wind-wildlife research organization he helped form in 2008. Stu has served in various industry capacities, focused on environmental and permitting related to development, construction, and operation of wind and solar energy facilities. From 2006-2009, Stu served as a permitting manager for Clipper Windpower Development, overseeing permitting and environmental duties throughout the U.S., and from 2010-2015 served as Director of Permitting and Environmental Affairs for Iberdrola Renewables (k.k.a., Avangrid Renewables). Prior to the renewable energy industry, Stu was an air quality technician, scientist, and project manager for a variety of environmental consulting firms from 1988-2006. Stu completed upper education with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a Masters from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, both at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Stu, his wife Anne, and their moms and critters call Portland, Oregon home with live music Stu’s tonic of choice.
